Hot Water System – Boiler Status is ON with pumps OFF
Objective/ Method/Outcome
Objective: Determines if primary pumps are inactive while boiler is active.
Method: Compares boiler operation with primary pump(s) operation and generates an insight when a mismatch occurs for greater than the defined threshold. Avoidable Cost and Potential savings are determined based on an hourly cost of faulty operation.
Outcome: This rule generates an insight.
Description
Reference: ASHRAE Guideline 36-5.21.6.3 This rule determines if boiler is overrunning when associated primary pumps are OFF. This rule is applied for boiler. This rule is part of the CopperTree Standard rule-set.
Default Priority
High
Diagnosis

2. Ensure that interfacing relays are working.
3. Verify that the status sensor is calibrated.
Message
