List of Infrastructure Insights

Description

Below is a list of all of Kaizen’s Infrastructure Rules. These are in every Building by default.

CopperCube

Name Default Priority Objective
CopperCube Offline High A lack of regular heartbeats indicates CopperCube communication problems. Find CopperCubes whose last report is more than 60 minutes old.
Not sending BACnet Objects High Objects are the basis of Golden Standards. A lack of objects indicates data collection or transmission problems. Find CopperCubes reporting no objects sent yesterday & today.
Not sending trend log updates High Trends are the basis of Kaizen analytics. A lack of trends indicates data collection or transmission problems. Find CopperCubes reporting no trends sent yesterday & today.
Volume of objects has changed significantly Med A large change in the #of objects sent indicates communication problems or configuration changes. Find CopperCubes whose daily object volume differs more than 5% from its 7 day moving average.
Volume of trends has changed significantly Med A large change in the #of trends sent indicates communication problems or configuration changes. Find CopperCubes whose daily trend volume differs more than 5% from its 7 day moving average.

Controllers (DEV)

Name Objective Method Threshold Range
High Reset Count High device reset counts indicate serious controller, database or network problems. Find controllers with Reset counts > X 25 Resets 25 – 250 Devices max @ 255
Full Database Low Database memory causes inconsistent operational behaviour and can impact Firmware upgrades. Find controllers with less than X% free memory 15% 5% – 15%
Low Memory Low working memory causes inconsistent operational behaviour and can prevent proper alarming. Find controllers with less than X% free memory 15% 5% – 15%
Controller In-Fault Controllers In-Fault indicate devices needing immediate servicing. Find controllers reporting “Non-operational”

Input Objects (AI,BI,MI,PI)

Name Objective Method
Input Uncommissioned The commissioned flag identifies Inputs that have been tested as correctly wired and operational. Find inputs (AI, BI, PI, MI) with “Commission_Flag” = “Not Commissioned”.
Input Out-of-Service Inputs in manual mode prevent automatic control. Find inputs (AI, BI, PI, MI) with “Out_Of_Service” = True.
Input In-Fault Inputs In-Fault cannot measure their operating environment. Find inputs (AI, BI, PI, MI) reporting a “Fault” condition (in Flags).

Output Objects (AO,BO,MO)

Name Objective Method
Output Uncommissioned The commissioned flag identifies Outputs that have been tested as correctly wired and operational. Find outputs (AO, BO, MO) with “CommissionFlag” = “Not Commissioned”.
Output Out-Of-Service Output in manual mode prevent automatic control. Find outputs (AO, BO, MO) with “Out_Of_Service” = True.
Output In-Fault Output In-Fault cannot make changes to their environment. Find outputs (AO, BO, MO) reporting a “Fault” condition (in Flags).

Trend Logs (TL)

Name Objective Method
Trend Log Out-Of-Service Trend Logs in manual mode are not collecting data. Find trend logs (TL) with “Out of Service” = True.
Trend Log In-Fault Trend Logs In-Fault are not collecting data. Find trend logs (TL) reporting a “Fault” condition (in Flags).

Scheduling Objects (CAL,SCH)

Name Objective Method
Calendar Out-Of-Service Calendars in manual prevent scheduled control of operations. Find calendars (CAL) with “Out of Service” = True.
Schedule Out-Of-Service Schedules in manual prevent scheduled control of operations. Find Schedules (SCH) with “Out of Service” = True.

Control Objects (CO,PG)

Name Objective Method
Control Loop Out-Of-Service Control loops are a common form of automatic control. Control Loops in manual are disabled. Find control loops (CO) with “Out of Service” = True.
Program Out-Of-Service Programs (PG) are a sophisticated form of automatic control. Programs in manual are disabled. Find programs (PG) with “Out_Of_Service” = True.
Program In-Fault GCL programs In-Fault have detected errors that prevent execution. Find GCL programs (PG) reporting a “Fault” condition (in Flags).

Delta V2 (Legacy)

Name Objective Method
Zone I/O Uncommissioned The commissioned flag identifies Zone I/O that have been tested as correctly wired and operational. Find Delta V2 Zone controllers (ZC) with “CommissionFlag” = “Not Commissioned
Zone Controller Out_Of_Service Zone Controllers in manual mode impact automatic control. Find Delta V2 Zone controllers (ZC) with “Out_Of_Service” = True.
Zone Controller In-Fault Zone Controllers In-Fault are not operating. Find Delta V2 Zone controllers (ZC) reporting a “Fault” condition (in Flags).
