Kaizen Release Notes: V1.5.1
Overview of Kaizen 1.5.1
CopperTree Kaizen Version 1.5.1 has been released for the customer accessible servers. The purpose of this release is to provide updates for the Kaizen system as well as a change for initial support of the Kaizen Energy Local Product.
User Actions
Be sure to clear the browser cache and log prior to accessing the new version of Kaizen.
New Features in Kaizen 1.5.1
Web User Interface
Admin System
- Access to the Admin System has been changed following an integration of some Admin System pages into the Kaizen functionality.
Specific changes are:
- Accessed via the Kaizen Navigation header menu. The user will then view the client needed.
- Buildings Settings are now available as an integrated part of the building dashboard. This includes Building Profile, Subscriptions and Manage Devices.
- Warnings will now appear if read/write permissions to a building are changed for any user.
Buildings
- Building configurations can now be accessed via the Building Settings icon in each building’s main page. The functionality available is:
- Editing profile
- Managing insights
- Modifying golden standard configurations
- Managing building devices (device settings)
Charts
- Chart name is now restricted to 64 characters in length.
Device Monitoring
- Device Monitoring list table can now be sorted by Severity column.
- Device Backup statistics are now available in the Device Monitoring tables.
Energy
- Reconfigured the Energy Meters page to use the same layout as other similar pages.
- New meter button has been moved to upper right corner of the table.
- Topmost line in the table, that contained the building name, has been removed.
- Removed the Target Comparison control under Performance view as the functionality has not been completed.
- Meter names are now limited to be 40 characters in length.
Insights
- The search for users to receive Insight notification has change to search only for the first or last name of the user. The email address is no longer used.
- Golden Standard Defaults have been updated:
- BDE – Receive Sources changes will no longer generate an GS insight
- DBI – Time of Last change can be used to generate an insight
- IPS – Available Services can be used to generate an insight
- TL – Notification threshold can be used to generate an insight
Kaizen Client
- The Clients menu bar has been renamed to Navigation and will open a page displaying the tree structure of available clients.
- The Kaizen logo and name in the upper left hand portion of the Kaizen client can now be clicked to return the user to the home dashboard.
- The user’s name in the Kaizen main header will now open the user’s profile.
- Advising Settings has been replaced with Subscriptions throughout the Kaizen client.
- All public facing web services now use secure SSL connections.
- The login page has been updated to use a “Stay logged in” message. This feature, when selected will allow the user to keep logged into Kaizen between browser sessions.
Logic Builder
- Formatting change on the logic builder page to correctly align elements.
- Trend Logs will be listed in order for the TL Logic Block.
Online Estimator
- A new functionality is available to provide an estimation tool for clients to determine costs and request quotes for CopperTree products.
Reports
- The history list for each report will now be sorted newest to oldest by default.
- Subscriptions pages will now be shown for users and groups.
Security
- Deployed linux security updates to prevent the Heartbleed security issues.
TL Viewer
- TL search has been updated to automatically show TL and MT references. No initial search is required.

Infrastructure
API
- Corrected an issue where the Public API would no longer return all values when format is enteliVIZ.
Web User Interface
Admin System
- Client Parent can now again be used to navigate to a parent client.
- Able to properly delete a user.
Charts
- Corrected a formatting issue were the Select Object buttons would disappear during chart setup.
- KPI Poor Performance Digest will now display a score of 0 properly.
- Consumption No Target chart will now properly display temperature line.
Device Backups
- Device Backup icons can now properly display device numbers greater than 5 digits in length.
Energy
- Save button will no longer become disabled.
- Editing a root meter will now not delete associated sub-meters.
Insights
- Insight Description will now be displayed when creating a new insight template from a Community template.
Inventory
- Clients are now able to deploy CopperCubes to sub-client properly.
Kaizen Client
- Corrected an Internet Explorer only bug where extra information would be display on the home dashboard.
- Suppress the logged in message when a user logs in successfully.
- Building search in the Favourite Buildings list will now properly match on partial building names.
- Various text updates to improve instructions and messages.
- Fixed and issue where Stay Logged In functionality would not work with some specific URLs.
Logic Builder
- The Navigator will now function properly when logic blocks are moved around the frame.
Reports
- The Run Now button in a report will now always create a new report when requested.
- Now able to select a Monthly schedule type.
TL Viewer
- TL Viewer will now display a graph frame for all Trend Logs.
- Trend Log and Multi-Trend search will no function properly when searching for device reference or object name.
- X-axis time labels will now display properly. For the days views, time will be included, otherwise dates only will be shown.
- CSV files generated will now always include full date and time in in the timestamp portion of the time value pair. The time will be in 24 hour format.
- Hover balloon will now show timestamps in a 24 hour format.
- Trend Log Viewer graphs will no longer show data into the future.
- Trend Log graphs will only show the correct days when selecting a predefined range.
- TL Viewer chart date range will now be shown correctly for predefined ranges.
Known Issues in Kaizen 1.5.1
Web User Interface
TL Viewer
- MT Viewer x-axis dates are not aligned for all graphs in a multi-trend.
- Some specific MT graphs will not display any data.
- X-axis time will not be displayed properly for COV type TLs when no data is available for the displayed date range.
