Create Custom Views with Insight Management

Description

The Insight Management tool makes it easy to bring meaningful details of an Insight to your attention by creating custom Views. Views are comprised of Columns that provide specific details related to Insights. You can leverage these Columns to the group and sort the findings in your Building.

The Views have three primary features: Column Selection and Arrangement, Grouping, and Row Filtering.

View Layout Configuration

Remove a Column

Follow the steps given below to remove a column from the layout:

  1. Click the downward-pointing chevron at the top of the Column you wish to remove
  2. Click ‘Hide Column’

Or

  1. Click the menu icon at the top-right of the Insight Management Log
  2. Click the title of the Column you wish to remove (columns already in the View will be indicated with a checkmark)

Add a Column

Follow the steps given below to add a column:

  1. Click the menu icon at the top-right of the Insight Management Log
  2. Click the title of the Column you wish to add (columns already in the View will be indicated with a checkmark)

Grouping

The following shows how columns can be grouped together:

  1. Identify the column with similar elements that you would like to group insights together based on (Rule Template and System are default grouping options for some views)
  2. Click the downward chevron
  3. Click Group
  4. Optionally, you can provide secondary groupings to organize Insights within the initial grouping

Column Sorting and Filtering

The following shows how different columns can be used for sorting and filtering:

  1. Click the downward chevron at the top of the column
  2. Choose to group based on this column
  3. Choose to sort the rows based on this column. When grouping has been applied, additional sorting options appear, such as:
    • Order by Count – Sort based on the number of Insights in each grouping
    • Order by Device Address – use the BACnet device ID to order groups of Insights
    • Order by Name – Sort using the names of the groupings
  4. Use the search field for basic filtering
