Kaizen Release Notes: V2.0.2

Release date: 2014-01-04

Overview of Kaizen V2.0.2

The main updates in Kaizen 2.0 are applied to navigation to each of the feature pages. The feature pages themselves have been made consistent in terms of controls and formatting, but the page functionality is, for the most part, the same as previous versions of Kaizen.

The support site has been updated for the Kaizen 2.0 features. It includes information on performing specific tasks for both Kaizen 1.6 and 2.0.

Improvements in Kaizen V2.0.2

  • A main Kaizen functionality bar has been added to the top of the browser page. This can direct the user to specific areas of interest:
    • Operations functionality (Navigation)
    • CopperCubes
    • Estimator
    • Community Library
  • A new navigation bar has been created to allow easier navigation to individual clients and buildings. Features include:
    • Full list of all clients and buildings that the user has permission to view. The clients are displayed in a hierarchical organization.
    • Ability to search by Client or building name.
  • Breadcrumbs have been updated to show a complete client hierarchy, the Building name, functional area, and then specific functionality. This will provide a useful method of navigating between features for the same building or client.
  • An updated user ‘home’ page contains a dashboard containing tables for Insight Filters, Favorite Buildings, and Favorite Pages.
  • A link from the login page at kaizen.coppertreeanalytics.com has been created to allow users to directly access Kaizen 1.6.8. This is a temporary link and will be removed following the full transition to Kaizen 2.0.
  • Client and building tree on the left-hand side. This can be used to filter and navigate to clients or building dashboards. The navigation tree can be hidden or shown as desired.
  • Users can search by client or building name in the navigation tree.
  • The main functional areas (Navigator, CopperCube, Estimator, and Community Library) can be accessed using the icons in the top green bar.
  • Client and Building dashboards will contain icon links in the dashboard header. These icons represent the main functional areas for the client or building. These links are similar to what was displayed in Kaizen 1.6 version.

Dashboards

  • New Client and Building dashboards have been created. These contain a number of widgets that will dynamically display important information.
  • The Client widgets include:
    • Insight snapshot.
    • The latest client reports count.
    • CopperCube status and statistics.
    • Worst buildings for missing device backups.
    • Latest reports list.
  • The buildings widgets will include the following:
    • Total insights and how they have changed over the past two weeks.
    • Insight breakdown.
    • Active insight type breakdown.
    • Device Backup breakdown.
    • Building energy breakdown.
    • Latest reports list.

Controls

  • Page content tables have standardized controls which will always remain in the same position for every table of Kaizen. Tool-tips will explain what each of the controls does.
  • Filters in tables will always be available using the filter icon rather than the filter buttons in previous versions.

Insights

  • The ability to view Insights and create Insight Templates are now both found under the same Insights view.
  • When creating a new Insight Template, the options on which to base the template have been revised to:
    • Import a Rule Template from the Community Library.
    • Clone an existing Rule Template.
    • Create a new Rule Template.
  • To reduce the volume of insights being generated, a number of the Infrastructure rules have been disabled:
    • Incorrect Time
    • Controller off-line
    • Input Missing/Deleted/Off-line
    • Output Missing/Deleted/Off-line
    • Trend Log Missing/Deleted/Off-line
    • Zone Controller Off-line
    • Slow Scan Rate
    • TL Buffer too small
    • Polling Interval too fast
    • TL Storage time span too short

License

  • Users will now have to accept a license agreement the first time (only) they log into Kaizen 2.0.

Logic Builder

  • The Logic Editor sidebars have been redesigned to be easier to use:
    • The sidebar can be shown or hidden and will no longer automatically hide from view.
    • Logic blocks can be searched by name from the list of available logic blocks.
    • All logic blocks will appear in the sidebar, however, their individual functional areas can be shown or hidden as desired.
  • Linear Regression Logic Block – A ‘relative’ date range can be specified when configuring the Logic Block. This will allow pre-defined ranges such as ‘Current year to date’ or ‘Last month and current month-to-date’ to be selected and gives users the ability to create ‘self-adjusting’ baselines.
  • Logic Blocks now have a delete button located right on the Logic Block itself.
  • EQ() functions in Logic Blocks can now accept a constant as an argument.
  • 30-minute aggregation intervals are now available as an option in Logic Blocks and Logic Flows.
  • Connections between Logic Blocks can now be removed by clicking on a delete link icon located on each Logic Block.
  • The preview option for Logic Blocks has a default date of the current day.

Trend Log Viewer

  • The default date range for the Trend Log Viewer graphs is now set to Last Week and Current Week to Date.
  • The full name of Trend Logs/Multi-Trends will be shown as a part of the Breadcrumb trail.
  • New quick filters are available it the Trend Log Viewer page:
    • All – show/hide all Trend Logs that exist for the building.
    • BACnet – show/hide all Trend Logs that were collected by a CopperCube.
    • Imported – show/hide Imported Trend Logs.
    • Calculated – show/hide Calculated Trend Logs.
    • Active/Not Active – show or hide only Trend Logs for which there is/is not historical trend log data.

Bug Fixes

Charts

  • Insights Executive Chart will now display the correct data based on the priority of the insight.

Energy

  • Energy Breakdown graph height has been increased to be the same size as the Performance graph.

Estimator

  • The Quote table search will now display correct results when searching for specific quote names.

Insights

  • Golden Standard configuration pages have been reorganized for easier workflow.
  • Insight Log and Insight Rule have been combined into one set of pages similar to Charts and Chart Templates.
  • Links to social media sites have been removed from the headers of all Insight e-mail messages.
  • Clicking the link in the report e-mail will now direct the user to the report page rather than directly to the report PDF file. This will allow the user the opportunity to log in to Kaizen.

Vault

  • When modifying an imported Trend Log, the action of clearing a date range and replacing it with other data will clear only the date and time range specified in the input .csv file.
