Determine if boiler is operating when OAT is above boiler enable set point

Applicable Systems

  • Primary: BLR

Objective/Method/Outcome

  • Objective: Determine if the boiler is operating when a heating plant may not be required.
  • Method: Check if the boiler is enabled above the desired OAT threshold.
  • Outcome: An insight is generated if the boiler is enabled for more than 4 hours while the OAT is above its enable threshold of 30 degrees.

Logic

  • This rule sums the number of times the boiler is operating above a given OAT threshold. Since the aggregation interval is set to 15 minutes, every time the control loop is outside of range is treated at 1/4 of an hour.
  • Sum over a week(number of 15-minute intervals system is operating above given OAT)

  • Occ (Binary Trend Log)
  • OAT (Real Trend Log)
